Akita Kanto Matsuri - Ginza
TOKYO, JAPAN, 29 SEPTEMBER - A group of people coming from Akita prefecture in Tohoku in the north of Japan make a show of Kanto Festival in the square of Yurakucho - Ginza. A Kanto is a pbamboo structure that maintain 46 paper lanterns and can be over 60 kg. It become higher an higher as performance when they add new Kanto pieces . Young people with short jacket kimono, head band hachimachi, white socks tabi and Zori straw sandals take turns to support the O-waka - full structure - on the shoulders, their forheads or their hips - September 2012
