ISHINOMAKI-Sight-Unseen
Ishinomaki (Tohoku Japan) has been destroyed by the tsunami on 11th march 2011. The photographs of this subjective series, in which I aspired to higher cognition than mere sight, show people and the ruined neighbourhood trought a opaque infrared filter..By willingly obscuring visual perception, the images are an expression of a highly personal, disquieting interpretation of the desolation.
